  • Tattoo / chip: Your dog must be identifiable either by a tattoo or by an up-to-date microchip if your information has changed (telephone number, address).

  • Health: Have a first aid kit in case of an injury and find out about veterinarians in the area where I am going.
  • Heat: Protect your dog from the heat, do not lock your dog in your car even for a “short errand” and even if the because is in the shade with the windows open. Walks on asphalt should be avoided during the hottest hours of the day, if you cannot walk barefoot, your dog cannot either. Water your dog regularly, you can take him to cool off in rivers provided you go gradually, be careful of the risks of hydrocution.
  • Well-being: Take him toys, a few things he is used to, some dogs can be stressed when they change environment and everyday objects will help reassure him.
  • Equipment: Don’t forget his leash, his collar/harness with a medal, travel mat, his bowls and his food .
  • Hydration: If you’re going for a walk, remember to take agourd and a portable bowl, not all places necessarily provide access to water and even less to drinking water.
  • <strong>Against the cold: In winter, if you go for a walk in the snow, you can cover your dog’s pads with a fatty cream to avoid injuries or equip your dog with small slippers. If your dog is chilly, you can put a coat on him to keep him warm.
