The section of the path leading directly from the Gaerstlerain farm to the Erichson chalet from Lac Vert (yellow disk) is very degraded and closed for repairs. A detour has been set up via the forest path.
The ascent from Hohrod to the Katzensteine rocks via the yellow disk and green ring trails is closed due to fallen trees from recent storms. A detour is in place via the red disk and blue disk trails.

OUR ACTIVITIES

OurHIKING PROGRAM for 2024 is available in the header of the “Hikes” page: At the request of our members, we have also plannedSOFT WALKS rated difficulty 1/5 to allow everyone to enjoy our beautiful landscapes, but you will find hikes for all levels from 1 to 5/5. Be sure to wear good shoes, bring water (or a thermos in cold weather), warm clothing, and a raincoat in case of bad weather… and a packed snack for day hikes.OurERICHSON CHALET at Gaerstlerain has been open since May 1, except on Fridays. Come taste our new “Erichson plate”!
In 2023, 3,000 hikers and Nordic walkers participated in the guided outings led by our guides. The volunteers at the Erichson chalet served nearly 10,000 hikers. In our 470 km of trails, our work teams accomplished, among other things, the securing of the rock trail and the Spitzkoepfe trail, and the renovation of the trails of Bloy, Schaeferthal, and the Albert Schweitzer trail, totaling over 4,000 hours of work. A big thank you to everyone!
2023 was the year of our150th anniversary: We celebrated it in style on January 7 with a king cake, on April 30 and May 1 with the opening of our trails, from July 3 to 9 with a photo exhibition, and at our Mountain Festival on Sunday, August 6. Our Pink Walk against cancer on Sunday, October 15 was a success with over 200 participants, and we will continue it in 2024. The proceeds were donated to the League Against Cancer. Our night walk for Christmas on December 16 attracted 243 participants. You can find photos of these events in theMembers Area.For our 150th anniversary, the painterGeorges RATKOFF created a beautifullithograph representing the Fischboedle Lake, in a limited edition, sized 28 x 38 cm, signed by the artist and numbered from 1 to 150. Treat yourself or gift a loved one with a copy of this souvenir, available for €25. Also available areposters of the same artwork in size 39 x 56 cm for €5… and there are still a few posters from the 100th anniversary of the rock trail, in size 39 x 56 cm, priced at €3. CLOSED TRAILS

The GR 531 trail (blue rectangle) from Lac du Schiessrothried to Kerbholtz is closed by municipal order due to a landslide. Signage has been put in place: See the map to the side.

FOREST WORKS

You will find below the plans of the plots that will be harvested starting from September. These operations are expected to be completed by the end of November.

**Plots 31 and 36 Munster:** The impacted route is the Red-White-Red path starting from the Col du Sattel towards Gaschney. At Sattel, take the blue disc south of Sattelkopf.

Plot 43 Munster The impacted route is the Red Cross path that ascends from Saegmatt to Gaschney via Silberwald.

Plot 49 Munster: The impacted routes are:

– The Red-White-Red path starting from Col du Sattel towards Gaschney. At Sattel, take the blue disc to the south of Sattelkopf.
– The Red Cross path that descends from Sattel towards the Gaschneyried peat bog and Saegmatt.
– The start of the Bloy trail (GR531 blue rectangle).

Plot 68 Munster: The impacted trail is the red disc that ascends from Sondernach / Raedle / Querben towards the Oberlauchen pass. From Sondernach, take the Blue Cross that heads towards Enderle.

Plot 83 Munster: The impacted trail is the Yellow Cross Trail that ascends from the Pfahlrunz waterfalls towards the ridge, starting from the Mittlach campsite. From Mittlach, take the GR5 to the Herrenberg pass.

A logging operation in parcel 47 of Metzeral is scheduled to begin on September 10. The affected path is one of the two variants of the blue disk that starts from the Dubarle camp to ascend to Schnepfenried via Anlasswasen: take the other variant marked “Schnepfenried via Giesenbach panoramic path.”

Ongoing logging in parcel 13 towards Altenberg: The affected paths are the Red-White-Red path that ascends from Stosswihr towards Altenberg and the Tramway path.

The Blue Cross path is closed between the road leading up to Lameysberg and the Saesserle farm; follow the paved road for this section.

Exploitation has been ongoing since June 10 in parcel 20 of Stosswihr. The impacted routes are the Yellow Cross between Saegmatt and Schluchtmatt, and the tramway path.

The Red Disc trail from Kaltenborn to Lac Vert is closed between Schildmatt and the Lakes path: Take the Yellow Disc to the south of Schildmatt.

Parcel 37: The Yellow Triangle trail from Boden to Lac Vert is closed between Boden and Missen. Take the paved road to reach the lake from Boden.
